MEDICAL DATE SCHEDULED TO COMPLETE DEAL FOR 5th SUMMER SIGNING

A free agent attacker is set to undergo a medical examination with Sheffield Wednesday as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the upcoming season.

On Friday, Sheffield Wednesday completed their fourth signing of the summer transfer window by acquiring Swedish midfielder Svante Ingelsson from Hansa Rostock. Ingelsson joins the club following Rostock’s relegation from the 2.Bundesliga. He will be part of Danny Rohl’s team alongside recent signings Ben Hamer, Max Lowe, and Yan Valery.

The Owls are diligently preparing for the 2024/25 Championship campaign, which kicks off with a home game against Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle at Hillsborough on August 11th. The Sheffield Wednesday first-team squad is expected to look significantly different compared to the end of last season, reflecting the club’s ambition to make a strong impact in the Championship.

In addition to these new signings, Sheffield Wednesday is on the verge of securing their fifth summer acquisition. Jamal Lowe, a free agent attacker, is scheduled to undergo a medical with the club on Saturday morning, according to Sheffield Wednesday News.

Jamal Lowe, a 29-year-old Jamaican international, was released by Premier League side Bournemouth at the end of the 2023/24 season. Last season, he spent time on loan at Swansea City, where he made a notable contribution with nine goals and three assists in 35 Championship appearances, helping the Swans secure a 14th place finish in the league.

Throughout his career, Lowe has accumulated an impressive record in the Championship, scoring 39 goals in 186 appearances. He has played for several clubs in the second tier, including Swansea, Bournemouth, and QPR. His most prolific season in the Championship was in 2020/21 when he netted 14 goals for Swansea, aiding their push for a top-six finish.

Lowe also brings valuable promotion experience to Sheffield Wednesday. He was instrumental in Portsmouth’s promotion from League Two in 2017 and played a key role in Bournemouth’s promotion to the Premier League in 2022.

With his extensive experience and proven track record in the Championship, Jamal Lowe is expected to be a valuable addition to the Owls as they aim for a successful campaign in the 2024/25 season.
