“DONE DEAL imminent”- Tottenham set to finalize and complete Blockbuster signing after Insider drops big progress Update that will make rivals wary

Juventus winger Federico Chiesa might be a smarter and more economical choice for Tottenham Hotspur compared to Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze. In an exclusive interview with Football Insider, former Tottenham defender Alan Hutton expressed his belief that Chiesa would seamlessly integrate into the team’s strategy under the leadership of manager Ange Postecoglu.

Chiesa, 26, began his stint at Juventus with a loan move from Fiorentina before permanently joining the club in 2022. Throughout his time with Juventus, Chiesa has made a notable impact, scoring 32 goals in 131 appearances. Despite his contributions, the Italian winger has been deemed surplus to requirements by the new head coach, Thiago Motta. Juventus is reportedly looking to offload him for a fee of around £25 million.

Securing Chiesa could be a financially prudent move for Tottenham, especially when compared to the steep asking price for Eze, which is rumored to be around £60 million. Chiesa’s versatility on the field is a significant asset; he is capable of playing across various positions in the front line. During the last season, he predominantly played as a striker for Juventus, where he managed to score nine goals and provide two assists in Serie A.

Tottenham is actively seeking to bolster their forward options following a disappointing Premier League campaign. Brazilian forward Richarlison underperformed, scoring only 11 goals and registering four assists. Chiesa, with his wealth of experience at the top level, could offer a valuable addition to the squad. He recently showcased his talent on the international stage, starring for Italy in Euro 2020 before their eventual elimination by Switzerland.

In addition to Chiesa, Tottenham has also been linked with Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze. Football Insider has reported that Spurs are in a competition with Liverpool to secure Eze’s signature. While acknowledging Eze’s abilities, Hutton suggests that Chiesa would be a more sensible option for Tottenham.

Hutton elaborated, saying, “Of course, he’s a good player. He fits into what they want to do; he can fill multiple positions. He can play as a number ten, out wide, and he’s constantly making runs inside and outside. Defenders need to keep a constant eye on him because he’s always on the move, always looking to dart in behind.”

“For a price tag of £25 million, Chiesa is something Tottenham would definitely consider over Eze, who would cost £60 million. Although Eze can also play in various positions, it seems Spurs are focusing on those wide areas where players can impact the game, create opportunities, and score goals,” Hutton continued.

The potential signing of Chiesa would not only be a strategic move but also a financially savvy one for Tottenham. His ability to adapt to different attacking roles makes him an invaluable asset, and his experience in major tournaments adds to his appeal. Furthermore, Chiesa’s knack for crucial goal-scoring moments and his high work rate on the pitch align perfectly with the dynamic style that Postecoglu aims to implement at Tottenham.

Ultimately, Tottenham’s decision will hinge on their available budget and other transfer priorities. There are several factors to consider, such as whether they are in the market for a new number nine and the future of Richarlison with the club. With so many variables at play, fans and analysts alike will have to wait and see how Tottenham navigates this crucial transfer window. The addition of Chiesa could potentially elevate the team’s performance and provide the spark needed for a successful season ahead.
