VICTOR OSIMEHN TO SPURS? …HERE WE GO!!Tottenham exclusively enters into advanced stage with swap deal in progress, futher updates revealed by Fabrizio Romano

Tottenham Hotspur are keeping a close watch on Napoli striker Victor Osimhen’s situation as Chelsea accelerate their efforts to secure the highly-rated forward, sources have disclosed to Football Insider.

Chelsea are actively negotiating a deal to sign Osimhen, 25, involving a cash-plus-player exchange, which would see Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku head the other way. The Stamford Bridge club is looking to bolster their attacking options with Osimhen, who has been in prolific form in recent seasons.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are also in the market for a top-tier striker after failing to adequately replace Harry Kane last season. The North London club has expressed their interest in Osimhen and has asked to be kept informed of any developments regarding his potential transfer. Spurs are reportedly willing to offer some of their own players in a swap deal to bring the Nigerian international to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Newly appointed manager Ange Postecoglou is said to be “obsessed” with signing a new forward this season. The Australian coach is keen to add firepower to his squad, which has struggled in Kane’s absence. In addition to their interest in Osimhen, Tottenham have also been linked with a move for Lille striker Jonathan David. Football Insider revealed on July 26 that Spurs are in talks with Lille, who have promised David that he would be free to leave for a transfer fee of around £20 million.

**Tottenham Keeping Tabs on Victor Osimhen Deal**

Victor Osimhen has established himself as one of the world’s best strikers since joining Napoli from Lille in 2020. The Nigerian forward has scored an impressive 76 goals in 133 appearances for the Italian club. Osimhen played a crucial role in Napoli’s historic 2022-23 Serie A campaign, helping the club secure their first league title since the days of Diego Maradona. He was the main figurehead of the team, scoring 31 goals in 39 appearances.

However, the following season was not as fruitful for Osimhen or Napoli. The club endured a disastrous title defense, finishing a disappointing 10th in the league, while Osimhen managed to score 15 goals in Serie A. Despite the team’s struggles, his tally of 15 league goals was only two fewer than Tottenham’s top scorer across all competitions last season.

South Korean forward Son Heung-Min concluded the campaign as Spurs’ top scorer with 17 goals, five more than current number nine Richarlison, who netted 12 times. This underlines the urgent need for a prolific striker at Tottenham, driving their strong interest in Osimhen as a key target to bolster their attacking options.

The pursuit of Osimhen by both Tottenham and Chelsea highlights the high regard in which he is held across the Premier League. Chelsea are pushing ahead with their negotiations, eager to secure Osimhen’s signature to enhance their forward line. Tottenham, on the other hand, are prepared to engage in a player-exchange deal to lure the Nigerian striker to North London, demonstrating their determination to make a marquee signing and address their attacking deficiencies.

Tottenham’s interest in Osimhen is part of a broader strategy to revamp their squad under Postecoglou’s leadership. The club is exploring various options to strengthen their attacking lineup and is actively scouting for talent that can make an immediate impact. The potential acquisition of Osimhen, coupled with interest in other forwards like Jonathan David, indicates Spurs’ ambitious plans for the upcoming season.

As the transfer window progresses, Tottenham fans will be eagerly watching for updates on these developments. The club’s pursuit of top-class talent like Osimhen reflects their commitment to competing at the highest level and reclaiming their status as a top Premier League contender. Whether they succeed in signing Osimhen or shift their focus to alternative targets, it is clear that Tottenham are intent on making significant moves in the transfer market to build a stronger, more competitive squad.
