He also highlighted that the club’s focus remains on their upcoming Champions League qualifier against Fenerbahçe, which is a significant priority for them.
“Everything is possible in the remaining time before the transfer window closes. With less than a month left, Jonathan David is concentrated on our two pivotal European matches, with the goal of ensuring our place in the Champions League,” Létang said. “Lille is in a strong financial position and does not urgently need to sell. Our well-managed finances give us the flexibility to handle these situations calmly. While qualifying for the Champions League is important, it is not an existential matter for us. One thing is certain: we will not consider letting him go if we cannot find a suitable replacement.”
As the transfer window progresses, Tottenham Hotspur and Atlético Madrid remain among the primary candidates for David’s signature.
