‘Germany isn’t the best of places’ – Harry Kane is regretting his move to Bayern Munich, claims Tottenham legend Paul Gascoigne as he explains another big-money transfer he should’ve made instead

Although Kane enjoyed a stellar debut season with the Bavarians, netting an impressive 36 goals and claiming the Golden Boot as Europe’s top scorer, Bayern Munich’s failure to win a trophy for the first time since 2012 left Kane’s trophy cabinet still empty.
The summer brought additional disappointment for Kane, as England’s hopes of triumphing in Euro 2024 were dashed by a final loss to Spain. This defeat compounded Kane’s sense of unfulfillment despite his remarkable individual achievements. Gascoigne, reflecting on Kane’s situation, has suggested that Kane may now be second-guessing his choice to join Bayern Munich, proposing instead that a move to Real Madrid would have been a more beneficial decision.
Speaking on behalf of Sports Talk Philly, Gascoigne shared his insights with GOAL, saying, “It’s hard for me to understand why Harry Kane decided to go to Bayern Munich instead of Real Madrid. When you sign with Real Madrid, it’s not just about the football; it’s about immersing yourself in a fantastic city with beautiful weather. Madrid offers a great lifestyle, and now Jude Bellingham is there too. Although Kane had a decent performance in the Euros, with one notable goal, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. You have to wonder why he didn’t choose to join Real Madrid, especially when you consider the success English players have had there, like Steve McManaman and Michael Owen, and now Bellingham is part of that illustrious club.”
