Report: Spurs offered the chance to sign attacker as a free agent right now

Football Insider reports that Tottenham Hotspur is one of several clubs now presented with the opportunity to sign Turkish international Yusuf Yazici, who is currently a free agent.

Although the transfer window has closed, it appears Tottenham may still be looking to bolster their squad, with Yazici emerging as a viable option for the club.

Yazici, an attacking midfielder who is also adept at playing on the wing, enjoyed a productive season with Lille, scoring 12 goals and contributing four assists. However, his contract with the Ligue 1 side expired in June, making him available on a free transfer. Football Insider notes that Yazici’s representatives have reached out to clubs including Manchester United and Tottenham, offering the player’s services.

Despite not securing a move in the past three months, Yazici continues to attract interest. Aston Villa and Newcastle United are reportedly among the clubs keeping a close eye on his situation as he deliberates over his next career step. Currently, Galatasaray is said to be in a leading position to acquire the former Lille star.

Spurs Web Opinion:

At present, an attacking midfielder or winger might not be a top priority for Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou, as the team already boasts several players capable of filling these roles. James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, and Bergvall are all competent as number tens, while Kulusevski, Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner, Odobert, Son Heung-min, and Moore are more than capable of covering the wing positions. Given this depth, adding another player in these roles might not align with the club’s immediate needs.
