Reguilon’s Tottenham Tenure on Life Support: Fabrizio Romano has uncovered a stunning development that threatens to upend Sergio Reguilon’s Spurs career, leaving fans reeling and the football world stunned

The transfer window in England has been closed for a few weeks now, yet opportunities for player transfers still exist. The Greek and Turkish transfer windows remain open, providing potential avenues for players who are seeking new destinations. Among those potentially on the move, David Datro Fofana is expected to join AEK Athens in the near future. He’s not the only Premier League player linked with moves to Turkey or Greece; Ben Chilwell and Sergio Reguilon have also been mentioned in transfer rumors.

Ben Chilwell’s situation at Chelsea is precarious, as he seems to have fallen out of favor with the club. Similarly, towards the end of the transfer window, Sergio Reguilon appeared to be on the outs with Tottenham Hotspur. However, Fabrizio Romano recently discussed Reguilon’s situation on The Debrief, providing some clarity. According to Romano, Reguilon is not in a rush to leave Tottenham. Instead, he is willing to stay and compete for his place unless a particularly advantageous opportunity arises.

Romano explained, “There are still players actively looking for moves, including Ben Chilwell and Sergio Reguilon. However, as of now, there are no significant or imminent developments for these two. Reguilon is not desperate to leave Tottenham; he’s prepared to stay and fight for his spot unless a promising offer comes his way. Chilwell’s case is different, as he seems to be excluded from Chelsea’s plans.”

Despite recent struggles, Reguilon could still be an asset for Tottenham. His experience with top clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United makes him a valuable depth option. Tottenham currently lacks substantial depth at left-back, so retaining Reguilon for the foreseeable future could be advantageous for the team.
