While he would prefer to stay with the New York Jets, his return would depend on the preferences of the team’s future general manager and head coach. The Pittsburgh Steelers, a team many speculated as a possible landing spot for Rodgers, are reportedly not interested. According to Gary Dulac of the *Pittsburgh Post-Gazette*, the Steelers have no plans to pursue Rodgers. Dulac told Rich Eisen, “I can tell you that it won’t be Aaron Rodgers. They have no interest in doing that.”
Despite a challenging 2024 season, Rodgers could still draw interest from quarterback-needy teams. He posted a career-low passer rating of 90.5, completing 63% of his passes for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Comparatively, Russell Wilson, another potential free agent, had a higher passer rating (95.6) but played only 11 games due to injury.
Potential suitors for Rodgers include the Cleveland Browns, whose starter Deshaun Watson suffered a second Achilles tear in 2024, and the Las Vegas Raiders, who have struggled to find stability at quarterback since parting ways with Derek Carr. Other teams, such as the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans, might consider Rodgers to provide mentorship for their young quarterbacks while offering a competitive edge for the season.
Rodgers’ future in the NFL remains uncertain, but his availability will undoubtedly draw attention if he decides to return.
