Arsenal are more likely to target RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko over Newcastle’s Alexander Isak this summer, according to journalist David Ornstein.
The Gunners have reportedly put significant effort into scouting Sesko in recent months and are in a stronger position to sign him than Isak, as they aim to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s attack.
Ornstein explains that Newcastle are unwilling to sell Isak, as their Saudi owners consider him central to their long-term plans, despite growing interest from Premier League rivals.
Speaking on *The Athletic’s* YouTube channel, Ornstein noted that while Sesko doesn’t yet have Isak’s record, he is younger, has great potential, and is a more realistic target for Arsenal. However, competition for his signature is expected.
Sesko was previously linked with a move to Arsenal in January, just months after extending his contract with Leipzig until 2029. Despite this, reports suggest he has a gentleman’s agreement to leave after the season.
The 21-year-old Slovenian forward, regarded as a “world-class talent,” has been in strong form for Leipzig, scoring 14 goals and providing three assists in 29 appearances this season. His recent performances have helped the club stay in contention for Champions League qualification.
