“I think they’ll be having that conversation on Monday,” Robinson said. “Spurs have a very difficult game against Aston Villa, and in football, a week is a long time. Their performance against Liverpool was extremely disappointing – they were tactically inept again.”
Robinson did not hold back in his criticism, pointing out how Spurs failed to register a single shot on target in a crucial semi-final encounter.
“It was one of the poorest performances I’ve seen,” he continued. “It’s shocking in a semi-final not to have a shot on goal, and that says everything about the team’s performance. But, to be honest, I didn’t expect them to get a result against Liverpool.”
Robinson also highlighted that many have continued to back Postecoglou due to his impressive start to last season, where Spurs enjoyed a strong opening 10 games. However, recent performances have raised serious concerns.
“The only thing keeping Ange in the job is the memory of those first 10 games last season. That’s what people are holding onto, along with the fact that they’re still in the Europa League,” Robinson added. “But this week, they’ve crashed out of the EFL Cup, and if they get knocked out of the FA Cup on Sunday, that changes everything. The conversation about Ange’s future is going to heat up next week.”
