Ange Postecoglou shares unexpected injury update on Micky van de Ven

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has revealed that the club is taking a cautious approach to Micky van de Ven’s return from a hamstring injury.

Since joining Spurs in 2023, Van de Ven has suffered four hamstring issues, the most recent keeping him out for seven weeks during the festive period. Although he briefly returned in January against Elfsborg, he hasn’t played since, sparking concerns among fans.

Postecoglou reassured supporters that there are no new setbacks, explaining that Spurs are focusing on ensuring Van de Ven fully recovers. The defender is working with different medical teams to strengthen his recovery, and he is progressing well.

The manager expects Van de Ven to return within the next three weeks, alongside fellow centre-back Cristian Romero, as well as forwards Dominic Solanke and Richarlison. He also provided an update on Romero, stating that his quad injury is healing slower than expected, but a final scan will determine when he can return to action.
