Harry Kane, the prolific England striker, reportedly had a post-title celebration plan rejected by Bayern Munich following the club’s confirmation as Bundesliga champions.
The 31-year-old forward was at the center of jubilant scenes after Bayern secured the league title thanks to Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-2 draw with Freiburg on Sunday, May 4. With that result, Vincent Kompany’s side clinched the trophy, sparking celebrations among players, coaches, and staff alike.
In the hours following the decisive match, Bayern’s squad gathered at a private venue where they let loose in typical fashion—singing along to classics like Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline.” Kane and his England teammate Eric Dier were spotted smoking cigars, clearly relishing the moment. It was a rare moment of revelry for Kane, who has often been recognized for his discipline and professionalism throughout his career.

The striker is said to have requested permission to jet off to the famed party island of Ibiza for a short celebratory trip. But Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, reportedly shut down the idea, labeling it “a step too far” due to the team’s upcoming Bundesliga fixture against Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday. With the title secured, Eberl was said to be keen on maintaining the team’s focus and professionalism as they closed out the domestic season.
Kane, who has long been the subject of criticism for failing to win major trophies at both club and international level, recently addressed the pressure he’s faced over the years:
“There are many people who, throughout my career, only talk about the fact I haven’t won a title yet. It would be nice to silence a few of them.”
