Sky Sport: Tottenham in talks to sign 23-year-old – Started last week, Spurs need €30m+

Tottenham Hotspur Intensify Pursuit of Stade Rennais Striker Arnaud Kalimuendo Amid €30m Valuation

Tottenham Hotspur have stepped up their interest in French striker Arnaud Kalimuendo, who currently plays for Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais. Reports emerging from France suggest that the North London club is seriously considering a summer move for the 23-year-old forward.

According to a recent report from L’Équipe, Spurs have begun to accelerate their efforts to bring Kalimuendo to the Premier League. The club is said to be monitoring the situation closely and is currently awaiting clarity on Stade Rennais’ asking price before tabling a formal offer.

Further developments were provided by Ouest-France, which gave an update on both the striker’s availability and the Ligue 1 club’s transfer plans. The outlet reports that Stade Rennais are looking to streamline their squad during the summer window and are open to selling Kalimuendo should the right offer come in.

Tottenham are reportedly one of the most eager suitors in the race for the French forward, described as being “hot” on his trail. Kalimuendo enjoyed a strong campaign during the 2024–25 season, scoring 18 goals and registering four assists across 34 appearances in all competitions — a return that has drawn attention from clubs across Europe.

The France U23 international has already held exploratory talks with several interested parties, including Tottenham and at least one other unnamed club. Notably, Ouest-France indicates that both Spurs and the other club — who are not yet disclosed — are considered the frontrunners in the competition to secure his signature.

Despite the growing interest, there have been no official negotiations initiated between Stade Rennais and the potential buyers as of now. That said, Tottenham have been informed of the financial expectations surrounding a possible transfer. The French club is reportedly seeking a fee in excess of €30 million to part ways with the promising forward.

Kalimuendo’s potential move would mark another statement signing for Spurs, who are looking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season under manager Ange Postecoglou. With the club aiming to reestablish itself among the Premier League’s elite and make a deeper run in European competition, adding a proven young talent like Kalimuendo could prove crucial.

As the summer transfer window unfolds, all eyes will be on Tottenham’s next move — and whether they’re willing to meet Stade Rennais’ valuation to secure one of France’s most exciting young forwards.
