Brown, who was part of United’s backroom team during one of the most successful eras in the club’s history and remains highly connected within the football world, stated that Villa manager Unai Emery is a long-time admirer of Mount. With the 26-year-old midfielder having recently returned to full fitness, Villa believe they could provide the ideal environment for him to regain the impressive form he displayed during his tenure at Chelsea.
This development follows a Football Insider report from June 17th, which disclosed that Manchester United are now open to offers for Mount, particularly in the wake of Matheus Cunha’s arrival at the club. Mount’s time at Old Trafford has been plagued by persistent injuries and a lack of consistent performances, which have seen him fall down the pecking order under Erik ten Hag.
Aston Villa, on the other hand, are actively looking to bolster their attacking options, especially after the departures of Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio, who both returned to their parent clubs following loan spells.
