On June 22, Brown revealed to Football Insider that Garnacho has already communicated his desire to remain in England to his representatives, ahead of what could be a decisive summer for his future. Despite the player’s willingness to stay in the country, no formal offers have yet been submitted, although it is understood that both Tottenham and Chelsea are circling.
It has also been reported that Manchester United are hoping to ignite a bidding war for the promising winger, with the Red Devils slapping a £50 million price tag on the Argentina international. While that figure may deter some suitors, clubs like Tottenham and Chelsea are known to be monitoring developments closely.
Tottenham’s Transfer Strategy Targets Garnacho
Back in May, Brown also suggested that new United boss Ruben Amorim has played a key role in pushing Garnacho toward the exit door. The former scout claimed Amorim has been trying to phase the youngster out of his plans for months, and United are now eager to cash in.
“Tottenham have been watching Garnacho’s situation very carefully,” Brown said. “This is the kind of deal that makes sense for everyone involved. United want the money, Spurs want to add more firepower out wide, and Garnacho doesn’t want to leave the Premier League.”
However, Brown was quick to stress that the outcome of this potential transfer hinges entirely on who’s willing to put the most money on the table.
“In normal circumstances, a club like Manchester United would hesitate to sell a rising star to a direct rival,” he explained. “But right now, their priority is maximizing value. They’re not concerned about where he ends up — they just want the biggest bid. The cash they raise will go toward finding his replacement.”
United’s intention to reinvest in attacking talent has already seen them linked with Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, among others. Brown acknowledged that a move for Mbeumo is one the Red Devils are keen to pursue.
“Whether Tottenham are ultimately the club that submits the top offer remains to be seen. Chelsea’s interest complicates matters, especially since they have a reputation for aggressive spending in the transfer market,” Brown continued. “But Spurs are definitely in the running, and if they feel the deal is viable financially, they’ll make their move.”
He also added that once the transfer window kicks into full gear, competition for Garnacho could heat up quickly. “Once one club makes a serious offer, it’ll spark a domino effect. Other clubs will be forced to act — and fast.”
Solomon’s Future in Doubt Amid Garnacho Interest
As Tottenham explore the possibility of bringing in Garnacho, the club’s current wide players could be affected — notably Manor Solomon. The Israeli winger endured a frustrating, injury-plagued debut season in North London and is now facing an uncertain future under new manager Thomas Frank.
Brown confirmed to Football Insider on June 19 that Frank will evaluate Solomon during pre-season training before making any final decisions about his role in the squad. The Danish manager wants to see how the former Shakhtar Donetsk player performs on the training ground before deciding whether to greenlight a sale.
Interest in Solomon is beginning to pick up, with Championship sides Burnley and Leeds United both linked with a move for the 24-year-old. Scott Parker’s Burnley, in particular, have reportedly joined the race in recent weeks as they seek to reinforce their attack following relegation from the Premier League.
Should Spurs complete the signing of Garnacho or another high-profile winger, it could pave the way for Solomon to exit the club, either on a loan deal or a permanent transfer, depending on how Frank assesses his contribution.
