Tottenham Eyeing Move to Sign ‘Exceptional’ £76m French Forward
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly maintaining their pursuit of French striker Randal Kolo Muani as the club looks to strengthen its attacking options ahead of the new season, according to a report from TBR Football. The North London outfit previously explored a move for the talented forward during the January transfer window, and their interest has not faded despite significant changes within the club.
Following a turbulent Premier League campaign that saw Spurs finish in a disappointing 17th place—just narrowly avoiding relegation—the club managed to end the season on a high note by securing a dramatic Europa League triumph over Manchester United. The victory not only salvaged their season but also ensured their qualification for next year’s UEFA Champions League, a remarkable turnaround that defied expectations.
In spite of this success, Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy made the bold decision to part ways with then-head coach Ange Postecoglou. Levy has since appointed Thomas Frank, formerly of Brentford, as the new man at the helm. The Danish tactician is tasked with leading Tottenham into a new era, and with fresh investment promised to support the squad rebuild, improving the forward line has emerged as a top priority.
One of the names believed to be high on Tottenham’s transfer shortlist is Randal Kolo Muani. The 26-year-old striker, currently contracted to Paris Saint-Germain, spent the latter half of last season on loan at Juventus. His performances in Serie A were eye-catching: 10 goals and 2 assists in just 20 appearances, showcasing his clinical finishing, intelligent movement, and ability to link up play in the final third.
Kolo Muani’s loan spell was originally set to expire at the end of the domestic season, but due to his strong impact in Turin, the arrangement was extended through the summer to include the Club World Cup. Juventus are reportedly keen to keep the forward for longer but would prefer another loan agreement rather than a permanent deal—an approach that could create an opportunity for Premier League clubs to swoop in.
While Kolo Muani is understood to be content in Italy and may prefer to remain with Juventus, the lack of a permanent agreement between PSG and the Italian giants could pave the way for Tottenham—or another English side—to step in with a serious offer.
