La Liga midfielder is Tottenham’s new top target after Morgan Gibbs-White saga drags on

A La Liga midfielder has now shot up to the top of Thomas Frank’s wishlist this summer, as Tottenham wait for Morgan Gibbs-White deal.

Over the last few weeks, Spurs Web has relayed a number of reports stating that Tottenham are keen on signing a top-class number six before the start of the season.

While Joao Palhinha is the player who has been most heavily linked with a move to Spurs over recent days, the Lilywhites are also thought to have their eye on another La Liga star.

A few days ago, TBR Football asserted that Thomas Frank is a big fan of Conor Gallagher, and a new update has now revealed that Tottenham are very serious about their pursuit of the former Chelsea man.According to a report in Fichajes, the Atletico Madrid star has now shot to the top of Tottenham’s summer wishlist as the Lilywhites continue to wait on Morgan Gibbs-White.

The Lilywhites have begun exploring a move for the 25-year-old after Frank made it clear to the club’s hierarchy that he wants to add the England international to his squad.

The Danish coach believes that Gallagher has the energy, physicality, and a knack for getting into the opposition box that he wants from his midfielders and sees him as the ideal upgrade on Yves Bissouma. However, Tottenham Hotspur will not find it straightforward to win the race for the Chelsea academy graduate, with Newcastle United also closely monitoring his situation.Fichajes say that Gallagher is keen on getting regular game time next season so that he can be in the England squad for next year’s World Cup and is thus willing to leave the Metropolitano Stadium.

The midfielder is tempted by the prospect of moving to St James’ Park, but it is alleged that Spurs have the additional appeal of being in London, a city where the player has personal and familial ties.

The report adds that Atletico would be inclined to accept a decent offer for Gallagher this summer, having already bolstered their midfield with the additions of Alex Baena, Thiago Almada, and Johnny Cardoso.
