🚨 BREAKING Tottenham now eyeing move to sign ‘world-class’ Champions League star alongside Jack Grealish, £35m gets deal done

Tottenham Among Several Premier League Clubs Monitoring Juventus Midfielder Douglas Luiz Ahead of Potential Summer Move

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly one of several Premier League clubs expressing interest in Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz, as speculation intensifies over the Brazilian’s future just one year after his move to Turin. According to a report from CaughtOffside, the Europa League champions are closely monitoring Luiz’s situation as Juventus appear open to offloading him in the current transfer window.

Luiz, who joined Juventus from Aston Villa last summer, is believed to be available for a fee in the region of €40 million (approximately £35 million). The Italian giants are thought to be willing to listen to offers following an underwhelming debut season for the Brazilian international, who has struggled to make a consistent impact in Serie A.

Several English clubs are understood to be in the hunt for his signature, with Tottenham joined by the likes of Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, Everton, Leeds United, and West Ham United in tracking the 26-year-old midfielder. Despite this widespread interest, Nottingham Forest have emerged as the current frontrunners in the race, though no formal agreement has been reached between the clubs as of yet.

Reports indicate that Luiz himself is keen on a return to the Premier League, a league in which he enjoyed a successful spell with Aston Villa between 2019 and 2024. He previously racked up 175 top-flight appearances, earning a reputation as a dynamic and composed central midfielder. His preference to remain in Europe reportedly led him to reject a move to Turkish outfit Fenerbahce earlier in the summer.

Luiz’s time at Juventus has been hampered by fitness issues and limited opportunities. He featured in just three Serie A matches as a starter and made six appearances in the UEFA Champions League, with recurring injuries disrupting his ability to settle and contribute consistently. Despite flashes of quality, he managed only 516 minutes across all domestic competitions in the 2024/25 campaign, leading to growing speculation that his stay in Turin could be short-lived.

For Tottenham, Luiz could represent a valuable addition to Ange Postecoglou’s squad, offering Premier League-proven quality in the heart of midfield. Spurs have already added defensive steel this summer with the loan signing of Joao Palhinha from Bayern Munich, and Luiz would complement that by bringing technical flair and transitional control.

The North London club are expected to remain active during the final stretch of the transfer window, with midfield and attacking reinforcements high on the agenda. Reports this week also suggest that Tottenham have made exploratory contact with Manchester City regarding a potential move for Jack Grealish, highlighting their intent to strengthen further in key areas.

As the transfer window heads into its decisive final weeks, Douglas Luiz’s situation remains one to watch closely. With multiple Premier League clubs circling and Juventus open to negotiations, a return to England looks increasingly likely — and Tottenham could be a serious contender if they decide to firm up their interest with a formal bid.
