TBR Football understands that Tottenham Hotspur made a late push on transfer deadline day in an ambitious attempt to revive their pursuit of Savinho. The North London club had been tracking the highly-rated Brazilian winger throughout the summer and were prepared to go all out to secure his signature.

Interestingly, Savinho himself was reportedly open to the transfer. Spurs had a glimmer of hope they could convince City, but Guardiola wasn’t ready to let him go. The player wanted the move – he liked the club, and Spurs were impressed by his attitude. “I think there is a real chance Spurs revisit this one. So much will depend on what happens over the next few months – if Savinho plays regularly for City, they may look to keep him. But if his minutes are limited, Tottenham will be waiting.”
