Newcastle United are determined to avoid another contract fiasco after the dramatic departure of Alexander Isak to Liverpool.

According to reports from iNews, Newcastle are preparing to open talks with two key pillars of Eddie Howe’s squad—midfield maestro Sandro Tonali and defensive powerhouse Sven Botman.

 

Tonali, who only joined from AC Milan in 2023, has already become a central figure in the Magpies’ midfield. However, speculation linking him with a return to Italy has surfaced more than once. His current contract runs until 2028, but Newcastle want to secure his long-term future with an improved offer.

 

Botman, meanwhile, has attracted strong interest from European giants Paris Saint-Germain and Bayer Leverkusen. The Dutch defender, contracted until 2027, has been a rock at the back since arriving from Lille and is viewed as a player Newcastle cannot afford to lose.

Alongside Tonali and Botman, Newcastle are also pushing to extend the stay of young full-back Tino Livramento. The England international, whose current deal runs until 2028, has been linked with Manchester City, but he is reportedly eager to commit his future to the Magpies.
