Tottenham Hotspur loanee Min-hyeok Yang has been turning heads in the Championship this season, with the young South Korean winger being described as “absolutely unbelievable” for his standout performances at Portsmouth.
Since completing his temporary move from Spurs to Fratton Park at the beginning of August, the 19-year-old has quickly established himself as one of John Mousinho’s most exciting attacking options. In just six league appearances, Yang has already netted two crucial goals and provided a constant spark down the flanks for the newly promoted Championship side.

> “I think he should be feeling on top of the world, really,” Mousinho said. “A young lad who has started three consecutive league games for the first time in his career, all in one week. He’s got two goals off the back of it and made a massive contribution in the game against Middlesbrough. He should feel full of confidence. I want to see a lot more of that.”
Yang’s rise has been impressive but far from unexpected. Tottenham secured his signature from Gangwon FC in South Korea back in January, recognizing his raw potential and technical ability. After signing, the club immediately loaned him to Queens Park Rangers, where he gained valuable experience during the second half of last season — registering three goal contributions in 14 appearances.
Now, with regular minutes and growing confidence at Portsmouth, Yang appears to be taking his game to another level. His pace, directness, and creativity have made him a key figure for Mousinho’s side, and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed by those back in North London.
If he continues on this trajectory, there’s every chance that Thomas Frank, who will be evaluating Spurs’ loan players next summer, could give Yang a closer look during pre-season.
