Sheffield Wednesday have reportedly dismissed a startling proposal involving a potential merger with their fiercest rivals, Sheffield United—an idea put forward by one of the most surprising parties expressing interest in taking over the club.
Fresh warning from Kris Wigfield as soft deadline approaches
The Owls, currently navigating administration, have set a soft deadline of December 5 for interested buyers to submit their indicative offers. Administrators have confirmed that several groups have already provided proof of funds, allowing them to begin narrowing the field to those capable of making serious, viable bids.
Their precarious situation was laid bare once again during last weekend’s Steel City derby, where Sheffield United swept them aside with ease.
