Spurs sources reveals top contender to replace Thomas Frank

Thomas Frank’s future at Tottenham Hotspur is beginning to look uncertain, with pressure building around the Danish manager only months after his arrival. Frank was brought in to replace Ange Postecoglou, a move that was meant to steady the club and push Spurs back toward the top of the Premier League. However, his tenure so far has been anything but smooth, and doubts are now starting to grow inside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

 

Since leaving Brentford for Spurs, Frank has struggled to produce the level of progress expected from a club with Champions League ambitions. Results have been mixed, performances inconsistent, and his tactical ideas have not fully taken hold. The situation worsened significantly after Tottenham suffered a humiliating 4–1 defeat to Arsenal in the North London Derby at the Emirates—a result that has intensified the scrutiny surrounding him.

 

Should Tottenham’s hierarchy decide that a change is needed, one name is quickly rising to the top of their shortlist: Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner. The Austrian has reportedly become a leading candidate to replace Frank if Spurs choose to move in a new direction.

 

Glasner’s reputation has grown rapidly since taking over at Selhurst Park. Under his leadership, Palace have been transformed from a mid-table side into genuine contenders for European football. His impressive achievements include delivering an FA Cup triumph last season and pushing for another strong run in continental competition, with Palace hopeful of lifting the Europa Conference League trophy this year.

 

Tottenham are believed to be monitoring his situation closely and could soon present him with a serious offer—one that might force him to leave Palace before completing his European campaign. Glasner’s preferred 3-4-3 system has drawn admiration, particularly for the way it maximises the strengths of wing-backs while giving attackers and defenders a clear structure to thrive in. Spurs have attempted to play a similar shape under Frank, but he has struggled to implement it with the same clarity and consistency.

 

According to reports from The Telegraph, one of the major concerns about Frank’s leadership is the sheer number of changes he continues to make—to his starting line-ups, tactics, and in-game adjustments. This constant rotation has contributed heavily to Tottenham’s uneven form and their inability to build momentum. If these issues persist, the club could soon decide that a fresh start is necessary.

 

That is where Glasner may come in. His tactical discipline, experience in European competitions, and success within the Premier League make him an appealing option. The prospect of leading Tottenham into Champions League football would also be a significant draw, potentially tempting him to swap South London for North London.

 

For now, Tottenham appear willing to give Frank a bit more time to turn things around. But unless results improve—and quickly—the door may soon open for Glasner to step in and attempt to steer Spurs back toward their ambitions of becoming a consistent top-four side.
