Tottenham Hotspur appear to have reached the end of the road with Yves Bissouma, as the club are now open to accepting any suitable proposal for the midfielder. The Malian international’s future in North London has been hanging in the balance for months, but the latest developments strongly suggest that his time at Spurs is rapidly drawing to a close.
Once regarded as one of the Premier League’s most reliable defensive midfielders during his Brighton & Hove Albion days, Bissouma has struggled to find consistency since completing his high-profile move to Spurs in 2022. Despite glimpses of promise, his two-year stint in North London has been marred by injuries, off-field disciplinary issues, and the inability to replicate the commanding form that made him a standout at the Amex.
A difficult start under Thomas Frank
The 28-year-old’s situation worsened this season under new head coach Thomas Frank. Bissouma was dropped from Tottenham’s opening game of the season against PSG, reportedly due to disciplinary reasons, including being late for team meetings and training sessions. His absence was a clear message from Frank, who has shown little hesitation in reshaping the squad according to his vision.
Bissouma was also left out of the UEFA Super Cup squad, another indication that he has fallen down the pecking order. With Tottenham now boasting a number of midfield options competing for starting spots, his pathway back into the first-team picture looks slim.

Spurs prepared to sanction exit
According to football journalist Pete O’Rourke, Spurs are now actively looking to offload the midfielder before the Saudi Arabian and Turkish transfer windows slam shut. Speaking to Football Insider, O’Rourke revealed:
“There would be potential for Bissouma to be moved on before the Saudi Arabia and Turkey [transfer] windows close, that is expected.”
He further added that Bissouma’s off-field issues have contributed to his downfall at Spurs:
“He’s out of favour under Thomas Frank and was dropped from their UEFA Super Cup squad, due to being late for various meetings and training. He hasn’t made the best of impressions on Thomas Frank, and he’ll probably find it hard to get into that Tottenham midfield.”

Clubs from Saudi Arabia and Turkey are closely monitoring the situation and are expected to make a move in the coming days. For Bissouma, a switch abroad may represent the fresh start he desperately needs at this stage of his career.
