The Premier League season is now in full swing, with the excitement of the second weekend of matches just around the corner. However, Chelsea won’t have to wait as long as their competitors to take the field again, as they face Servette in a crucial Conference League qualifier on Thursday evening.

While Chelsea gears up for their midweek clash, other London clubs and their rivals are busy bolstering their squads in preparation for the weekend’s fixtures. Below, we provide a comprehensive update on the latest transfer developments, as reported by renowned football insider Fabrizio Romano.

One of the headline stories involves Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling, who is reportedly on the verge of leaving Stamford Bridge. According to Romano, although there aren’t any specific clubs involved yet, Sterling’s representatives are actively exploring options for his next move. “The decision is clear after discussions with Maresca, so Sterling is leaving, and it’s over with Chelsea. Negotiations will follow in the coming days with several possibilities on the table,” Romano shared with CaughtOffside. This news signals the end of Sterling’s tenure at Chelsea, as his departure now seems inevitable.

Another prominent figure expected to exit Chelsea is Romelu Lukaku, whose transfer saga has been closely watched. Napoli has emerged as the frontrunner in securing Lukaku’s signature, with negotiations reportedly intensifying. Romano revealed via Twitter, “Napoli will meet Chelsea today in London as they are eager to finalize the Romelu Lukaku deal even before resolving the situation with Victor Osimhen. An official bid was sent on Monday, though it wasn’t immediately accepted, discussions are ongoing. Napoli is determined to get this deal over the line. The Lukaku-Napoli deal is very close, with the clubs scheduled to meet in London within the next 24 hours. The plan remains on track.”

In other transfer news, Fulham has successfully completed the signing of Burnley midfielder Sander Berge, bringing the Norwegian international back to the Premier League after enduring relegation with both Sheffield United and Burnley. Romano confirmed the deal on Twitter, stating, “Sander Berge’s move to Fulham has just been finalized! Berge has signed a five-year contract with an additional one-year option. The deal was secured by his long-time agent, Morten Wivestad, after three weeks of negotiations with Fulham. Now, it’s all sealed. Here we go.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s highly-touted youngster Charlie Patino is set for a move to Spain in search of regular first-team action. Once seen as one of Arsenal’s brightest prospects, Patino is now poised to join Deportivo La Coruña. Romano reported, “Arsenal has agreed to sell Charlie Patino to Deportivo La Coruña for a fixed fee of £1 million, with a significant sell-on clause included. Patino is ready for a new chapter in Spain.”

Tottenham Hotspur is also in the process of offloading one of their academy products, with Jude Soonsup-Bell expected to join Spanish side Cordoba FC. Romano provided an update, “Jude Soonsup-Bell is set to leave Tottenham Academy and join Cordoba FC on a permanent transfer. The deal is done.”

As the transfer window heats up, clubs across Europe are making decisive moves to strengthen their squads, with more developments expected in the coming days.
