Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a bold summer move for Manchester United star Marcus Rashford, who may be open to a fresh start away from Old Trafford. The England international, one of the highest-paid players in the Premier League, is said to be willing to accept a pay cut to facilitate a transfer, according to a report from CaughtOffside.

Rashford’s Uncertain Future at Manchester United

Rashford’s long-term future with Manchester United is increasingly in doubt following the arrival of new manager Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese tactician is expected to shake up the squad as he prepares for his first full season in charge, and Rashford’s role in the new setup is far from guaranteed.

Despite being a key figure at United in recent years, Rashford endured a mixed 2024/25 campaign and ended the season on loan at Aston Villa. His short-term stint in the West Midlands saw him recapture some form, contributing 10 goals and assists in just 17 appearances. Villa have reportedly expressed interest in bringing him back on a permanent basis.

However, Rashford is not short of suitors. Alongside Aston Villa, Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are said to be closely monitoring the situation. There is also reported interest from abroad, including from Spanish giants Barcelona, though a move within the English top flight is thought to be more appealing to the 27-year-old forward.

Tottenham, now under the leadership of new manager Thomas Frank, are among the frontrunners in the race to sign Rashford. The north London club recently parted ways with Ange Postecoglou and are looking to usher in a new era under the former Brentford boss. Strengthening the attacking line is believed to be a top priority for Frank, and Rashford’s versatility and Premier League experience make him a tantalising target.

While Rashford still has three years left on his lucrative contract at Manchester United – which reportedly nets him around £325,000 per week – he is said to be open to reducing his wage demands in order to secure a move. For Spurs, this would represent a major coup if they can agree on a deal both financially and in terms of squad fit.
