Report: Wolves Prepared to Sell £28m Trio as Vítor Pereira Begins Summer Squad Overhaul
Wolverhampton Wanderers are bracing for a busy summer transfer window, with new head coach Vítor Pereira keen to reshape the squad and usher in a new era at Molineux. Tommy Doyle was signed permanently for around £4 million following a successful loan stint from Manchester City. While he initially impressed under former boss Gary O’Neil, Pereira has reportedly questioned Doyle’s physical attributes and tactical fit, leading to uncertainty over his long-term future at the club. Despite this, Doyle remains a player of interest, particularly to newly-promoted Sunderland, while Championship sides Birmingham City and Wrexham have surprisingly entered the fray.
Hwang Hee-chan, who cost £14 million when he joined Wolves from RB Leipzig in 2022, was once considered a crucial part of O’Neil’s plans. In fact, the club turned down a £21 million bid from Marseille in 2024. However, under Pereira, Hwang has dropped down the pecking order. The manager reportedly views the South Korean forward as surplus to requirements, and Wolves are now open to offers — although no new bids have yet materialised.
Boubacar Traoré, signed from Metz for £9.5 million, endured a frustrating campaign plagued by injuries. He was close to sealing a move to Feyenoord last summer, but a long-term injury sustained in a Carabao Cup tie against Burnley halted any progress. With fitness still a concern and no significant interest surfacing since, Traoré’s future at the club remains uncertain.
