Wolves Want to Sign ‘Extraordinary’ Star on Free Transfer

Wolves are eyeing a deal to sign Southampton star Kyle Walker-Peters on a free transfer as a potential replacement for Nelson Semedo, according to Football.London’s Alasdair Gold. The Molineux club suffered a difficult start to the 2024/25 season under Gary O’Neil before making the decision to replace him with Vitor Pereira, and the Portuguese coach led the team to safety in the Premier League while also earning a nomination for the Premier League Manager of the Season award. He is now being trusted by the Wolves board to reshape the squad in his image as a result, and a busy summer window is expected in the Midlands with a number of key players set to depart. The Saints star is also out of contract this summer and has already confirmed that he will leave St Mary’s when his contract expires following their relegation back to the Championship.Described as ‘extraordinary’, the former Tottenham youngster is capable of playing on both flanks as a full-back or wing-back, while also having experience of playing as one of the centre-backs in a back three system – which Pereira currently uses. But they face competition from several clubs including Spurs and Everton, which means they are likely to move quickly on a deal once they have confirmation on the future of Semedo.
