Reports from The Telegraph indicated that Liverpool were preparing a substantial offer for the 24-year-old centre-back, casting doubt over the Magpies’ hopes of securing the England international. Adding to the concern, journalist Luke Edwards shared on X (formerly Twitter) that Eddie Howe could be on the verge of missing out on yet another long-term defensive target.

 

However, fresh developments over the weekend suggest that Newcastle may not be out of the running just yet. According to The Guardian, senior reporter Jacob Steinberg has revealed that the Magpies remain “very much in the mix” for Guehi’s signature, with the player still evaluating his options ahead of what could be a pivotal summer in his career.
