Wolves Show Strong Interest in Bayer Leverkusen Star Amid Uncertain Transfer Talks

 

 

Wolverhampton Wanderers have expressed concrete interest in signing Bayer Leverkusen winger Amine Adli during this summer’s transfer window, according to a report from Sport Bild, as cited by transfermarkt.de. The Premier League side are believed to be keen on acquiring the services of the 25-year-old French-Moroccan attacker, and sources suggest that Adli himself has taken the initiative by requesting Bayer Leverkusen to enter formal discussions with Wolves.

 

However, despite mutual interest between the player and Wolves, negotiations are currently facing a significant roadblock. The two clubs are reportedly far apart in their valuation of the player. Adli’s current market value, which has dipped to around €18 million following an injury-disrupted 2024/25 campaign, is considerably lower than what Bayer Leverkusen are demanding. The German club, fresh off a historic unbeaten domestic double last season under manager Xabi Alonso, still value the attacker at closer to €30 million — a figure that reflects his peak valuation reached in May 2024.

 

Adli played a supporting but valuable role in Leverkusen’s remarkable title-winning season, helping the team clinch both the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal without a single loss. Despite struggling with injuries throughout the year, he remains a player highly regarded by the club’s hierarchy, who believe his potential is still untapped.

 

Yet, there seems to be some ambiguity regarding Adli’s personal stance on a potential move. Over the past few weeks, the winger has made several contradictory statements about his future. Just nine days ago, he downplayed any transfer speculation by stating there was “no need to discuss a transfer,” highlighting his focus on the new season under incoming manager Erik ten Hag. His current contract — which was renewed as recently as November 2024 — runs through to the summer of 2028, giving Leverkusen a strong negotiating position.

 

Nonetheless, Wolves appear determined to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new Premier League season, and Adli’s versatility — capable of playing on either flank or as a central playmaker — makes him an appealing target. Whether the English club can meet Bayer’s valuation, or if a compromise will be reached, remains to be seen. Much could depend on further developments in Leverkusen’s preseason and the player’s continued performance and fitness levels.
