Tottenham Hotspur’s search for attacking reinforcements continues to gather pace as the club eyes AS Monaco’s rising star, Maghnes Akliouche, ahead of the summer transfer window.

 

Spurs have been strongly linked with Manchester City’s exciting Brazilian winger Savinho, who has been impressing on loan at Girona, but their pursuit has hit a major obstacle. City have made it clear they do not intend to part ways with the highly-rated youngster this summer, effectively shutting the door on Tottenham’s primary target.

“Tottenham have shown strong interest in Savinho at Manchester City, but City have rebuffed their approaches, insisting they don’t want to lose him. Effectively, they’re pricing the Brazilian out of any potential deal. That has forced Tottenham to explore other options, and right now the player attracting their attention is Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche – a talented young forward who would come at a significantly lower cost.”

 

Akliouche, who has steadily risen through Monaco’s ranks, is widely regarded as one of the brightest young talents in French football. Blessed with excellent dribbling, vision, and composure in the final third, he has the skillset to adapt well to the Premier League. For Spurs, his age and development potential make him an appealing long-term investment rather than just a short-term fix.

 

Tottenham’s recent strategy has placed a strong emphasis on building around young, technically gifted players – a philosophy that has paid dividends with the likes of Destiny Udogie, Pape Matar Sarr, and Micky van de Ven. Adding Akliouche to that group would further strengthen the squad’s youthful core while also giving Ange Postecoglou another versatile attacking option.

 

Of course, much will depend on Tottenham’s ability to strike a deal with Monaco.
