Problem looms as fans can’t believe what the Spurs squad are being forced to do few hours after the end of the season

Spurs’ 24-man squad set out on a 25-hour journey to Melbourne on Sunday night, just hours after the final Premier League game of the season.

It was a busy weekend for the North London club.

Dejan Kulusevski scored twice to secure a 3-0 victory over relegated Sheffield United and secure fifth place in the Premier League.

And just after Ange Postecoglou’s side won the Europa League, they headed to East Midlands Airport to catch a flight to Australia.

That’s right.

Spurs will face Newcastle United in a post-season friendly at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday 22nd May.

The game marks a return home for manager Postecoglou, who first managed Spurs last summer when they played West Ham in Perth.

In addition to the match, a public training session will be held at AAMI Park on Tuesday 21 May as part of Global Football Week Melbourne.

The campaign sparked a wide range of reactions from fans on social media.

Someone said: “I can’t think of a worse way to miss the European Championship than potentially getting injured midway through.

” A second person wrote: “I can’t believe they would do this.

Absolutely ridiculous,” and a third commented: “It’s ridiculous that they would do this to their players.

” It’s nothing but greed.

” A fourth person said: “Even though the season has just ended, they squeeze every penny out of their players and send them halfway around the world for empty games with no rest.

” Imagine skipping to what a club.

5th added: “Literally hours after the Sheffield United game.

But if the lower league teams draw in next season’s FA Cup.

, there will be no rematches because the players have played too many matches. The level of football stinks and the essence of the game has been ruined by greed.

”Although the schedule is dissatisfied with the young players.

Rio Kyerematen and Leo Black will be accompanying the first team for the first time.
