The growing nostalgia for Redknapp comes after another disappointing night for Tottenham. “But it’s not going to happen,” he added. “I can’t see it happening. I’ll be at Cheltenham on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.”

While Redknapp’s comments were clearly made in good humour, they underline just how desperate Tottenham’s current situation has become.
