Tottenham Hotspur have officially confirmed that head coach Igor Tudor has left the club after both parties agreed to part ways with immediate effect.

In an official statement released by the north London side, the club explained that the decision was made mutually, bringing an end to Tudor’s brief spell in charge after just six weeks. Alongside Tudor’s departure, two members of his backroom staff have also exited the club. Goalkeeping coach Tomislav Rogic and physical coach Riccardo Ragnacci have both stepped down from their roles.

The statement expressed gratitude for the work the trio carried out during their short time at the club. Tottenham acknowledged the effort and commitment they showed during their tenure, noting that they worked tirelessly throughout the past few weeks. The club also took a moment to recognise the personal hardship Tudor has recently experienced following the death of his father, sending their condolences and support to the Croatian coach and his family during what they described as a difficult period.

Tottenham concluded the announcement by confirming that further information regarding the appointment of a new head coach will be communicated soon.

Following the announcement, well-known Spurs journalist Alasdair Gold revealed that the club are already moving quickly in their search for a replacement. Writing for Football London, Gold reported that Tottenham expect to appoint a new head coach within the next few days.

According to him, the club’s priority is to have the new manager in place by the time the players return from international duty. This would give the incoming coach roughly ten days to work with the squad and prepare for their upcoming Premier League clash against Sunderland.

In the meantime, assistant coach Bruno Saltor has remained at the club and will oversee training sessions at Tottenham’s Hotspur Way training complex for the small group of players currently available.

Several potential candidates have already been linked with the vacancy. Former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has been strongly associated with a sensational return to north London. However, a reunion will not happen this season as Pochettino is currently preparing to lead the United States men’s national soccer team into the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

Another prominent name in the conversation is Roberto De Zerbi. The former Brighton & Hove Albion and Olympique de Marseille manager is believed to be interested in taking the job on a permanent basis. However, reports suggest he is unwilling to take charge immediately while Tottenham are still battling the threat of relegation.

Meanwhile, Sean Dyche has played down rumours linking him with the role after he was recently dismissed by Nottingham Forest. Despite laughing off the speculation, he remains among several potential short-term options being considered by the club.

According to a report from The Telegraph, Tottenham have drawn up a list of possible interim candidates. Among them are three former Spurs managers — Harry Redknapp, Glenn Hoddle and Tim Sherwood — who could temporarily step in to stabilise the team.

Former Tottenham assistant Chris Hughton is also believed to be under consideration, while the club have reportedly conducted background checks on ex-AS Monaco coach Adi Hütter.

In a surprising twist, long-serving defender Ben Davies — who has made more than 360 appearances for Tottenham — has even been mentioned as a potential player-manager option as the club continues to weigh up its next move.
