Davante Adams states THREE REASONS why he would “100%” like to play for the Steelers.

Davante Adams’ brief reunion with Aaron Rodgers on the New York Jets has not played out as expected, leading both players to likely move on and explore new opportunities. For Adams, that could mean a potential shift to the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he could reunite with head coach Mike Tomlin.

In a recent appearance on the Up and Adams Show, Adams spoke candidly about the possibility of joining the Steelers under Tomlin’s leadership. He expressed a strong admiration for the coach, emphasizing the significance of having a “player’s coach” like Tomlin. “Oh, 100%,” Adams responded when asked if he would play for Tomlin. “Anytime you have a coach that’s a player’s coach and they’ve got a way with their guys, those types of coaches, whether they coach me or not, always win me over.” Adams went on to praise Tomlin not only for his coaching abilities but also for his personal qualities. “I’ve had nothing but respect for him and it’s been mutual. He talked to me during some games… Obviously, he’s a great coach, but a hell of a dude too.”

The Steelers had a decent showing in the 2024 season, managing to reach the playoffs, though they were eliminated quickly by the Baltimore Ravens in a 28-14 wild card loss. Despite the team’s early exit, Pittsburgh’s offensive unit could benefit from additional star power, and Adams could provide that spark.

Throughout the 2024 season, Adams managed to put up impressive numbers, even though both the Jets and his former team, the Las Vegas Raiders, struggled to perform at a high level. He finished the year with 85 receptions for 1,063 yards and 8 touchdowns, marking his fifth consecutive season surpassing 1,000 yards. Adams’ consistency as one of the league’s top receivers makes him a valuable asset for any team in need of offensive upgrades.

For the Steelers, adding a proven wide receiver like Adams could significantly enhance their offense. With their current roster needing more playmaking ability, Adams would be a strong addition to help elevate their passing game. The combination of Tomlin’s leadership and Adams’ talent could create a dynamic partnership in Pittsburgh, making this potential move one to watch in the off season.
