£86M Tottenham Offer REJECTED! Man City Refuse to Sell 27-G/A Star

According to Brazilian publication Globo Esporte, Tottenham Hotspur have maintained their interest in Manchester City winger Savinho as they look to strengthen their attacking options during the ongoing summer transfer window. The North London club are understood to be prioritising the addition of a dynamic wide forward, with the 22-year-old Brazilian emerging as one of their leading targets.

Globo Esporte reports that Tottenham have now submitted an improved offer worth around £85 million for Savinho. The proposal represents a significant commitment from the Lilywhites, who are keen to make the Brazilian a key part of their attacking plans ahead of the 2026/27 campaign. Savinho is reportedly also pushing for a move away from the Etihad Stadium as he seeks a fresh start and more consistent first-team football.

Despite Tottenham’s renewed efforts, Manchester City have reportedly remained firm in their stance over the winger’s future. The Premier League champions are understood to be reluctant to sanction his departure without receiving an offer that meets their valuation, leaving Spurs waiting for a definitive response to their latest proposal.

Savinho’s Frustrating Spell at Manchester City

Savinho’s time at Manchester City has not developed as expected despite arriving at the club with considerable promise. The Brazilian joined City from sister club Troyes in July 2024 in a deal reportedly worth £30.8 million after catching the attention of several European clubs during an impressive loan spell at Girona.

His 2023/24 campaign with Girona was particularly encouraging. Savinho played an important role in the Spanish side’s remarkable season, showcasing his pace, dribbling ability and creativity while establishing himself as one of the most exciting young attacking players in La Liga.

Those performances helped generate significant expectations when he made the move to the Etihad. Savinho initially showed flashes of his potential in his first season with Pep Guardiola’s side, particularly through his ability to create chances and operate effectively in one-on-one situations.

However, his involvement dropped considerably during the 2025/26 campaign. The Brazilian international accumulated just 1,502 minutes across 36 appearances in all competitions, recording four goals and three assists. While those numbers do not fully reflect his attacking ability, his limited playing time has raised questions about whether he can establish himself as a regular starter at Manchester City.

Competition for places has also made Savinho’s situation increasingly difficult. With established attacking options such as Jeremy Doku and Antoine Semenyo competing for places in the wide areas, the Brazilian faces a major challenge in securing consistent minutes. A move elsewhere could therefore provide him with the opportunity to play a more prominent role and rediscover the form that initially attracted City’s interest.

Despite his struggles for regular football, Savinho’s reputation remains strong. His age, technical ability, versatility and previous performances mean that he continues to attract interest from clubs looking for an explosive and creative attacking player.

Tottenham Determined to Finally Land Their Man

Tottenham’s interest in Savinho is not new. The North London club reportedly explored the possibility of signing the winger last summer, only for a move to fail to materialise after Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola opposed his departure.

The fact that Tottenham have returned for Savinho suggests that their admiration for the player has not diminished. Spurs are once again searching for greater quality and depth in the attacking areas, and the Brazilian’s ability to play across the frontline makes him an attractive option.

Tottenham’s need for attacking reinforcements has also become more apparent following their decision to part ways with Son Heung-min. The South Korean forward had been one of the club’s most important attacking figures for many years, and replacing his goals, creativity and versatility is likely to require more than one addition.

Richarlison’s uncertain future has added another layer of complexity to Tottenham’s attacking plans. The Brazilian forward has endured an inconsistent spell in North London, and uncertainty surrounding his long-term position at the club could encourage Spurs to strengthen their forward line further.

Savinho is therefore viewed as one of several attacking players Tottenham have considered. Other versatile forwards, including Cody Gakpo, have reportedly appeared on the club’s wishlist, but the Manchester City winger remains an appealing option because of his ability to provide width, pace and creativity.

Can Tottenham Complete the £85 Million Deal?

Tottenham now appear prepared to intensify their pursuit of Savinho, with their latest £85 million proposal demonstrating just how seriously they are taking the transfer. The offer reportedly brings Spurs closer to City’s valuation, although the Premier League champions have yet to give the green light for the Brazilian’s departure.

The situation could ultimately depend on whether Manchester City decide that the financial package is sufficient and whether all parties can agree on the structure of the transfer. Savinho’s reported desire to leave could also become an important factor as the summer window approaches its final stages.

For Tottenham, securing the Brazilian would represent a major statement of intent. Savinho is still only 22 and has considerable room for development, meaning the club could potentially view the transfer as both an immediate solution and a long-term investment.

The challenge now is convincing Manchester City to part ways with a player they signed only two years ago. With Tottenham reportedly willing to invest as much as £85 million, however, negotiations could be entering a decisive phase.

If Spurs can reach an agreement with City, Savinho could become one of their most significant attacking additions ahead of the 2026/27 season. After previously coming close to signing the Brazilian, Tottenham will be hoping that their latest attempt finally results in a deal and gives the winger the opportunity to revive his career away from the Etihad Stadium.
