Omar Marmoush Set for Tottenham Medical as £140m Manchester City Double Deal Moves Closer
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly on the verge of completing another major attacking move, with Omar Marmoush expected to travel to London for a medical on Monday as Spurs push ahead with a deal that could dramatically reshape Roberto De Zerbi’s forward line.
The Egypt international has emerged as one of the biggest names linked with Tottenham this summer, and the latest developments suggest the transfer is now entering its decisive stages. Marmoush is expected to undergo his medical before Tottenham complete the necessary contracts and registration documents required to finalize the move.
The exact conditions that would trigger Tottenham’s reported purchase obligation have not yet been revealed. However, the structure of the agreement appears to differ from earlier reports surrounding the negotiations.
Previous rumours had suggested that Tottenham were discussing a permanent transfer for Marmoush in the region of £74 million to £75 million. The latest reports, however, indicate that Spurs could initially bring the forward in on a loan arrangement before potentially being required to make the transfer permanent once certain conditions are met.
Marmoush has already reportedly agreed personal terms with Tottenham, with the North London club preparing a contract that could keep him at the club until 2031 following the loan period.
The development comes at a particularly interesting moment for Manchester City. Marmoush remained an unused substitute during City’s 2-1 Premier League victory over Bournemouth in their opening game of the season, with reports of Tottenham’s agreement emerging only hours later.
His lack of involvement immediately raised questions about his future, particularly after he had featured in the Community Shield defeat to Arsenal the previous week. Enzo Maresca introduced Marmoush during the second half as a replacement for Erling Haaland, but the Egyptian’s situation now appears to be moving rapidly towards an exit.
Maresca had previously attempted to distinguish Marmoush’s situation from that of players who had openly requested transfers.
“Savio since day one asked to leave and Omar didn’t ask to leave since day one,” the City boss said on Friday.
However, Maresca also admitted that Manchester City would consider departures if players wanted to leave and suitable offers arrived.
That stance could now pave the way for Marmoush’s Tottenham move, with Spurs seemingly determined to take advantage of the situation.
The potential Marmoush deal is also believed to be part of Tottenham’s ambitious attempt to strengthen their attack with multiple high-profile additions. KingFut previously reported that Spurs were working on separate deals for Marmoush and Savinho, with De Zerbi personally involved in efforts to transform Tottenham’s attacking options.
Tottenham have reportedly also agreed an £85 million deal for Savinho, consisting of £75 million upfront and a further £10 million in add-ons. If both deals are completed, Spurs could be looking at an extraordinary attacking investment of around £140 million.
For Tottenham supporters, the prospect of Marmoush and Savinho arriving together represents a potentially explosive development. Both players would add pace, creativity and attacking unpredictability to a squad that De Zerbi is attempting to rebuild into a serious force.
Marmoush joined Manchester City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 and went on to make 36 appearances across all competitions last season. He scored eight goals and registered three assists while playing 1,393 minutes.
Now, with a Tottenham medical reportedly scheduled for Monday, the next few days could be crucial.
If the medical is successfully completed and the contracts and registration documents are finalized, Marmoush could soon become one of the most talked-about additions of Tottenham’s new era.
For De Zerbi, this could be much more than another transfer. It could be a statement that Tottenham are prepared to spend heavily and move aggressively in their bid to build a completely transformed attacking force.
