Tottenham Hotspur are expected to step up their pursuit of a new striker before the transfer window closes, with the club now shifting its attention towards strengthening the attack after an aggressive summer of recruitment in defence and midfield. Reports suggest the North London side have drawn up a four-man shortlist as Roberto De Zerbi looks to add another reliable goalscorer to his squad.
Spurs have already invested heavily in reshaping the spine of the team. The arrival of Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United in a blockbuster £100 million deal and Mateus Fernandes from West Ham for £85 million has completely transformed the midfield, giving De Zerbi an exciting new partnership at the heart of his side. At the back, Jan Paul van Hecke joined from Brighton in a deal worth £52 million, while experienced trio Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka arrived on free transfers to provide additional quality and depth.

Eli Junior Kroupi (Bournemouth)
Among all the names linked with Tottenham, Bournemouth star Eli Junior Kroupi remains the club’s preferred target. The highly-rated 20-year-old enjoyed a sensational breakthrough campaign in the Premier League last season, scoring 13 goals in 33 appearances and establishing himself as one of England’s brightest young forwards.
Kroupi’s movement, composure in front of goal and ability to consistently generate high-quality scoring opportunities have made him one of the most sought-after young strikers in Europe. Many believe his ceiling is incredibly high, making him an ideal long-term fit for De Zerbi’s project.
However, Bournemouth are under no pressure to sell. According to respected journalist Alasdair Gold, the Cherries have placed a hefty £85 million valuation on the French youngster and are prepared to reject any offers below that figure.
Tottenham are understood to be reluctant to meet that asking price immediately and are instead exploring alternative options while monitoring whether Bournemouth soften their stance later in the window.
The South Coast club have already endured significant change this summer following the departure of their manager and are preparing for their first-ever European campaign. Losing one of their brightest talents as well would be another major blow, meaning Spurs may have to either pay a premium or move on to another target.
Omar Marmoush (Manchester City)
If Tottenham decide experience is the better option, Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush has emerged as another intriguing possibility.
Reports from CaughtOffside and several other outlets claim Spurs have expressed interest in the Egyptian international, who has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter at the Etihad Stadium.
Despite possessing outstanding pace, technical quality and versatility, Marmoush has found it difficult to cement a place in City’s attack alongside Erling Haaland. With fierce competition for places, speculation has grown that he could be allowed to leave if the right offer arrives.
A move to Tottenham could provide the fresh start Marmoush needs. Under De Zerbi, he would likely receive far more opportunities to showcase his qualities and become a central figure in the team’s attacking setup.
Although not a traditional centre-forward, Marmoush’s ability to play across the front three or operate as a second striker would give Spurs valuable tactical flexibility. His experience at the highest level could also prove useful as Tottenham aim to climb back into the Premier League’s top positions.
Nicolo Tresoldi (Club Brugge)
Should Spurs remain committed to signing a young striker but fail to land Kroupi, Club Brugge forward Nicolo Tresoldi is another player firmly on their radar.
According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham’s recruitment department have been closely monitoring the 20-year-old German, who enjoyed an outstanding campaign last season.
Tresoldi finished the year with an impressive 23 goals and seven assists, proving he can lead the line effectively while also contributing creatively. His all-round game has attracted attention from several European clubs, but Spurs are believed to be among those keeping a particularly close eye on his progress.
Although moving to the Premier League would represent a significant jump in quality, Tottenham view his age and potential as major positives. If acquired for a sensible fee, he could develop into a top-class striker under De Zerbi’s guidance.
Even if the move did not work out immediately, Spurs would likely retain significant resale value due to his age and reputation. Meanwhile, Solanke could continue leading the attack while Tresoldi adapts to English football.
Fisnik Asllani (Hoffenheim)
The final striker reportedly on Tottenham’s shortlist is Hoffenheim forward Fisnik Asllani.
TEAMtalk claims Asllani, alongside Tresoldi, has been identified as one of the club’s main alternatives should Bournemouth refuse to lower their asking price for Kroupi.
The Kosovo international is coming off his first full campaign in one of Europe’s top five leagues, registering 19 goal contributions in 35 appearances. Those numbers represent solid progress and underline his ability to influence matches consistently.
Nevertheless, Asllani would arguably be the biggest gamble among Tottenham’s reported targets. While his performances have been encouraging, his statistical output is not quite as eye-catching as Tresoldi’s, and questions remain over whether he possesses the elite potential required to become a leading Premier League striker.
Even so, Spurs’ recruitment staff appear to believe there is significant room for development. At 23 years old, Asllani still has time to improve, and working under an attack-minded coach like De Zerbi could help unlock another level in his game.
With several weeks remaining in the transfer window, Tottenham are expected to continue assessing all four options before making their final decision. Kroupi remains the dream signing, but Bournemouth’s steep valuation means Spurs are wisely keeping alternative plans in place. Whether they ultimately invest in proven experience or another exciting young talent, adding a new striker has become one of the club’s biggest priorities as De Zerbi looks to build a squad capable of challenging near the top of the Premier League once again.
