Richarlison Tottenham Exit Descends Into Chaos as Trabzonspor Move Hits Major Roadblock
Richarlison’s Tottenham Hotspur nightmare has taken another dramatic twist, with his proposed move to Trabzonspor now hanging by a thread as the clock continues to tick toward the Turkish transfer deadline.
What initially appeared to be a straightforward escape route for the Brazilian striker has suddenly become a complicated transfer saga, with Tottenham reportedly refusing to lower their demands despite the player being completely outside Roberto De Zerbi’s plans.
Richarlison has already been left out of Tottenham’s Premier League squad and is currently training with the U21s, making his situation at the club increasingly difficult to ignore. The message from Spurs appears clear: the Brazilian is no longer central to De Zerbi’s project.
Yet despite that, Tottenham are still proving extremely difficult to negotiate with.
Spurs Reject Second Trabzonspor Offer
According to ESPN Brazil, Trabzonspor have made two approaches for Richarlison, but both have been rejected by Tottenham.
The first proposal was reportedly worth €15 million (£13m) guaranteed. Trabzonspor then returned with an improved package worth €15m guaranteed plus a further €5m (£4.3m) in potential bonuses.
Even that offer failed to convince Tottenham.
The rejection has immediately raised questions about exactly how much Spurs expect to receive for a player who is no longer part of their first-team plans.
Tottenham had reportedly been seeking around £30m (€34.7m) for Richarlison, a valuation that already caused potential moves to Everton and Aston Villa to collapse before the English transfer deadline.
Now, with Trabzonspor apparently unwilling—or unable—to match those demands, the Brazilian’s hoped-for departure is suddenly in serious danger.
Richarlison Wants Out
Perhaps the most frustrating aspect of the situation for Richarlison is that there appears to be little doubt about his desire to leave.
Reports from Turkey have claimed that the striker had verbally agreed to join Trabzonspor and was even pushing Tottenham to accept the Turkish club’s proposal.
However, with Spurs refusing the offers on the table, Richarlison is facing the possibility of being stuck in a situation he clearly wants to escape.
ESPN Brazil have also reported that relations between Richarlison and Tottenham have deteriorated during the negotiations.
There was reportedly disagreement over how the transfer talks were handled, leaving the Brazilian disappointed with members of Tottenham’s hierarchy.
That development could make an already tense situation even more uncomfortable.
Salah and Fabinho Make Personal Calls
In an extraordinary development, Mohamed Salah and Fabinho have reportedly personally contacted Richarlison in recent days to encourage him to make the move to Trabzonspor.
Fabinho already knows Richarlison from their time together with Brazil, including the 2022 World Cup, and his involvement underlines just how seriously Trabzonspor have been pursuing the striker.
The reported calls from two major Brazilian football figures could have added further encouragement for Richarlison, who appears keen on the idea of starting a fresh chapter away from Tottenham.
But ultimately, the decision may not be in his hands.
Trabzonspor Add Another Complication
As if the situation wasn’t complicated enough, Trabzonspor have reportedly also signed Franculino Djú, another centre-forward.
That does not necessarily mean the Turkish club have abandoned their pursuit of Richarlison, but it certainly raises fresh questions.
If another striker has now arrived, does Trabzonspor still consider Richarlison a priority?
The answer could determine whether Tottenham receive another offer before the Turkish window closes.
For Richarlison, the timing could hardly be more frustrating.
Saudi Arabia Could Be His Escape Route
With the Turkish deadline approaching, ESPN Brazil suggest Saudi Arabia could potentially provide another option if Trabzonspor fail to reach an agreement with Tottenham.
That could give Richarlison one final opportunity to leave Spurs before being forced to wait until January.
For a player who is already outside De Zerbi’s plans, spending several more months away from the first team would hardly represent the ideal outcome.
The situation has therefore become a race against time.
Tottenham want their valuation respected. Trabzonspor have already had two proposals rejected. Richarlison reportedly wants the move. His representatives are pessimistic about getting the deal completed.
And now another striker has entered the picture at Trabzonspor.
With the Turkish transfer window closing on Friday, the next few hours could prove decisive.
What looked like Richarlison’s clearest route out of Tottenham has suddenly turned into one of the most dramatic transfer sagas surrounding the club.
The Brazilian’s future remains uncertain and unless Tottenham soften their stance or another club arrives with an acceptable offer, Richarlison could be forced to remain at Spurs until January despite being nowhere near De Zerbi’s plans.
