Tottenham Fans Have Every Reason to Be Excited as De Zerbi Makes Stunning £12.5m Star Prediction

De Zerbi Sends Powerful Message About Tottenham’s 23-Year-Old Star After Chelsea Heroics

Tottenham Hotspur may still be in the early stages of Roberto De Zerbi’s reign, but the Italian manager is already making it abundantly clear that he has enormous belief in the young stars at his disposal.

After Spurs produced a dramatic 2-1 victory over Chelsea in Sydney on Saturday, one player in particular earned special recognition from De Zerbi. Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky was the difference-maker when the pressure reached its highest point, producing a string of outstanding saves to keep his side alive before Richarlison eventually completed a sensational stoppage-time comeback.

For a goalkeeper who is only 23, Kinsky’s performance was another huge indication of the potential Tottenham believe they have on their hands.

The match represented Tottenham’s first major test of their summer preparations, and it certainly did not feel like an ordinary friendly. With a capacity crowd watching on, the London rivals played with intensity, aggression and determination, giving De Zerbi an early glimpse of how his squad could respond when placed under serious pressure.

Spurs appeared to be facing an uphill battle when they were reduced to 10 men at the beginning of the second half following a costly lapse of concentration from Kevin Danso.

Chelsea immediately looked capable of taking advantage.

But Tottenham refused to collapse.

And standing between Chelsea and a potentially decisive goal was Kinsky.

Kinsky Produces Huge Saves

The Czech goalkeeper was forced into action repeatedly and responded with the kind of confidence that will excite Tottenham supporters.

One save in particular stood out.

Kinsky produced an extraordinary reflex stop to deny Estevao, somehow getting enough on the Chelsea youngster’s effort to push the ball onto the post. It was the sort of moment that can completely change the outcome of a match.

Had Chelsea scored, Tottenham could have been forced into a difficult defensive battle while playing with 10 men.

Instead, Kinsky kept Spurs in the contest.

His performance did not go unnoticed by De Zerbi, who believes the young goalkeeper possesses virtually everything required to eventually become one of the best distributors in world football.

However, the Tottenham boss also identified one area where Kinsky must improve.

De Zerbi believes the goalkeeper needs to become quicker and more decisive when Tottenham are building from the back.

The Spurs boss explained that Kinsky already has excellent passing ability, but his decision-making speed can improve significantly.

According to De Zerbi, Kinsky can become “one of the best” in the world when it comes to build-up play if he continues working with the coaching staff.

That is a huge statement from a manager renowned for demanding technically gifted footballers who are comfortable with possession.

Rather than simply praising Kinsky for his spectacular saves, De Zerbi appears determined to transform him into a complete modern goalkeeper — one who can not only stop goals but also help control matches with his distribution.

De Zerbi Makes Archie Gray Captain

Kinsky was not the only young Tottenham player to receive significant backing from De Zerbi during the club’s tour.

Another youngster who has clearly caught the manager’s attention is Archie Gray.

The 19-year-old was handed the captain’s armband for all three of Tottenham’s friendlies during their New Zealand and Australia tour, an extraordinary show of confidence in a player still developing his career.

De Zerbi revealed that he first spoke to experienced defender Ben Davies, Tottenham’s natural captain, before deciding to give Gray the responsibility.

The decision was not simply about leadership on the pitch.

For De Zerbi, it was also about sending Gray a message.

The Italian wants the youngster to understand that he is not merely viewed as a promising prospect. He is considered an important part of Tottenham’s present — as well as their future.

De Zerbi has previously described Gray as “the future of the club,” but he now appears to be going one step further by insisting that the midfielder is already an important member of the first-team squad.

Gray’s versatility is another major reason why De Zerbi values him so highly. He can operate in multiple positions, giving Tottenham valuable tactical flexibility.

Interestingly, De Zerbi admitted that Gray does not particularly enjoy playing at right-back. But the manager’s message was clear: leadership means putting the needs of the team before personal preferences.

Spurs’ Young Core Is Getting Stronger

De Zerbi also drew comparisons between Gray and Lucas Bergvall, another young player he clearly rates highly.

The message coming from the Tottenham manager is becoming impossible to ignore.

This is a coach who wants to build around youth, talent and versatility.

Kinsky is being challenged to develop into an elite modern goalkeeper. Gray is being given responsibility and leadership experience. Bergvall is also being positioned as an important part of Tottenham’s future.

And if Saturday’s victory over Chelsea is anything to go by, Tottenham’s young stars are already beginning to respond to De Zerbi’s demands.

The 2-1 victory may have been only a summer friendly, but the performance offered Spurs supporters plenty of reasons for excitement.

Kinsky’s heroics, Gray’s leadership and Richarlison’s dramatic late winner all combined to produce a statement result.

More importantly, De Zerbi is already showing that he is not afraid to trust Tottenham’s young talents with major responsibilities.

The next challenge will be turning that potential into consistent Premier League performances.

If Kinsky, Gray, Bergvall and Tottenham’s other emerging stars continue developing under De Zerbi, Spurs could be building something far more dangerous than a successful summer tour  they could be laying the foundations for a new era.
