BREAKING: Tim Sherwood Reveals De Zerbi’s Surprise ‘New Welbeck’ Target at Tottenham as Major Attacking Move Emerges!

Tottenham’s £65m Nicolas Jackson Gamble Could Complete De Zerbi’s Dream Attack

With less than two weeks remaining before the transfer window slams shut, Tottenham Hotspur appear to have one major piece of unfinished business: strengthening Roberto De Zerbi’s attack.

Spurs have already enjoyed a remarkably busy summer, spending heavily to reshape the squad and give their new manager the tools to compete at the highest level. However, with the new Premier League campaign rapidly approaching, attention has now turned towards the frontline — and there is growing pressure on the club to make one final statement signing.

Tottenham have been linked with several attacking stars, including Cody Gakpo, Savinho and Omar Marmoush. Yet one name could potentially solve a problem that has become increasingly difficult to ignore: Nicolas Jackson.

The situation is straightforward. Spurs currently have Dominic Solanke, Richarlison and Mathys Tel as their main centre-forward options. Solanke remains the first-choice striker, but his injury record means Tottenham cannot afford to rely entirely on him throughout a demanding campaign.

Richarlison provides experience and versatility, although his future remains uncertain amid reports linking him with a possible return to Everton. Meanwhile, Tel is an exciting young talent but is still developing and cannot realistically be expected to carry the attacking burden on his own.

For a club targeting a top-four finish, that could represent a significant gamble.

This is precisely why the possibility of signing another proven forward has become so important.

Jackson Could Be De Zerbi’s Missing Piece

Former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood has suggested that Jackson could be the player Spurs need, describing the Chelsea forward as someone who “could be the answer” to their attacking problem.

The comparison with Danny Welbeck is particularly interesting.

During De Zerbi’s time at Brighton, Welbeck offered much more than simply goals. He provided physicality, movement, pressing ability, experience and a focal point for the attack. He could bring teammates into play while creating space for dangerous wide players to exploit.

Jackson possesses several of those qualities.

The Chelsea forward is quick, powerful and capable of stretching defensive lines. His ability to run behind defenders could also complement a Tottenham attack featuring explosive wide players such as Savinho and potentially Gakpo.

If De Zerbi wants his Tottenham side to replicate some of the attacking principles that worked so effectively at Brighton, adding a forward capable of leading the press and linking the attack could be crucial.

Spurs Could Smash £250m Spending Barrier

There is, however, one major obstacle: the price.

Reports suggest Chelsea could demand around £65 million for Jackson. That would represent another enormous investment for Tottenham, who have already committed more than £200 million during an extraordinary summer of spending.

A £65m deal would push Spurs beyond the £250m mark and underline just how seriously the club is backing De Zerbi.

It would also send a huge message to the rest of the Premier League.

Tottenham have already rebuilt significant areas of their squad, with new defensive and midfield options arriving to fit De Zerbi’s tactical vision. But adding Jackson could be the move that transforms their attacking possibilities.

Imagine a Tottenham frontline with Jackson leading the line while dangerous wide players attack around him. Suddenly, De Zerbi would have greater depth, more physical presence and another genuine threat capable of changing games.

The clock, though, is ticking.

With the transfer deadline rapidly approaching, Tottenham must decide whether Jackson is worth another major financial commitment or whether they should focus on alternative targets such as Gakpo, Savinho or Marmoush.

One thing is becoming increasingly clear: Spurs do not want to enter the new season believing their attacking options are good enough when there is still time to improve them.

If Daniel Levy and the Tottenham hierarchy decide to sanction one final blockbuster deal, Nicolas Jackson could emerge as the signing that completes De Zerbi’s attacking revolution.

And if that £65m move happens, Tottenham’s already explosive summer transfer window could become even more remarkable.
