Tottenham Just Sign £80M World-Class Star As Spurs Complete Huge Transfer

Spurs have taken an aggressive approach in the summer transfer window, investing heavily in the squad as they look to rebuild and avoid another difficult campaign.
Tottenham have already committed around £185 million to strengthening their midfield, with the arrivals of Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United and Matheus Fernandes from West Ham standing out as two of their biggest additions. The club’s recruitment drive, however, is far from over, with the north London side continuing to explore opportunities in other areas of the squad.
One of the biggest developments has been Tottenham’s reported agreement to sign Manchester City winger Savinho. Spurs are believed to have reached a deal worth around £75 million for the Brazil international, with a further £10 million potentially available in add-ons. The proposed transfer represents a major statement of intent from Tottenham and could become one of the most significant deals of their summer rebuild.
Savinho is not a new name on Tottenham’s radar. The club first identified the winger as a potential target last summer when Thomas Frank was in charge. Spurs made an attempt to bring the Brazilian to north London at the time, but Savinho ultimately decided to remain at Manchester City for another season and continue working under Pep Guardiola.
That decision did not end Tottenham’s interest. Instead, Spurs returned for the winger this summer and have now pushed ahead with plans to secure his services. His pace, creativity, attacking ability and versatility are viewed as qualities that could add another dimension to Tottenham’s forward line.
The potential arrival of Savinho could also signal the beginning of further attacking changes at the club. According to reports, Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi is keen to strengthen his attacking options even further and has identified another Manchester City player, Omar Marmoush, as a potential target.
Tottenham’s pursuit of Marmoush would underline their ambition to completely reshape their attacking department. With the club expected to compete on multiple fronts, De Zerbi wants greater depth and more quality in the final third, particularly after another season in which Spurs struggled to produce consistent results.
If the Savinho deal is completed, Tottenham’s total spending for the summer is expected to move beyond the £300 million mark, despite the transfer window having just over a week remaining. The scale of the investment highlights how determined Spurs are to overhaul the squad following their disappointing league finishes.
However, Tottenham have not simply been spending without attempting to balance the books. The club have also generated significant income through player sales, bringing in around £140 million from the departures of key figures including captain Cristian Romero, Djed Spence and Luka Vuskovic.
Those sales have helped offset some of the huge expenditure and have given Tottenham additional room to continue pursuing their transfer targets. The club’s approach suggests that the rebuilding process is being carried out with both incoming and outgoing transfers in mind.
Savinho and Marmoush are not the only attacking players linked with a move to north London. Reports have also claimed that Tottenham have shown interest in Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo as they continue searching for more firepower.
A potential deal for Gakpo, however, would be considerably more complicated. Liverpool are unlikely to consider allowing the Netherlands international to leave unless they are satisfied with their own attacking options. The Reds would also demand a substantial transfer fee before even considering a sale.
For Tottenham, the next few days could therefore prove crucial. With Savinho seemingly close to joining, interest in Marmoush and Gakpo, and further business potentially still to come, Spurs are showing that they intend to make major changes to a squad that has struggled for consistency.
The summer transfer window has already been one of the busiest in Tottenham’s recent history, and with the deadline approaching, the club could yet make more headlines.
